The Latin group meets from 2.15pm - 3.45pm on the second and fourth Friday of each month. The members of the Latin Group all have 'O' level and feel that it would be difficult for anyone to join without this foundation. However, this is not to say that we are operating at a very high standard!
We use the very comprehensive 'Wheelock's Latin' as a primer and are currently working through some of its sections in order to consolidate our knowledge and understanding of grammar. We are also tackling translation of short authentic Latin texts from the Cambridge Latin Anthology. We devote the last part of each session to Virgil's 'Aeneid' - translating small sections but also reading larger chunks in English from various published editions.
