Pickleball was developed in the 1960s in USA and has grown steadily in popularity over the years; it is now taking off in the UK! The key to its popularity is that it can be played and enjoyed by all age groups and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy to learn. The key points of the sport are:
- It is played on a badminton sized court, with a modified (low) tennis net
- It is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes
- It can be played as either singles (if you are fit!) or doubles
- Most of all, it is fun to play
Please Note: the Pickleball-1 group meets at 15:00 every Thursday, at Westminster Lodge; the session runs for an hour. New players are very welcome, as are people who want to have a look at the game and see what is involved.
