Table Tennis Group 2 (TT2) is organised by David Miller
Table Tennis Groups 1 and 2 meet on alternate Wednesdays, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm, in the Orton Room at Greenwood Park Community Centre, Tippendell Lane, Chiswell Green, St Albans, AL2 3HW. There is ample free car parking. We have two table tennis tables and play a mixture of singles and doubles games depending on how many members attend. Usually we play one game (to 21 points) then people swap around to different partners or opponents, or to the bench, so that if we have more than 8 members attending no one has to sit out for very long (the group size is currently limited to 14 members). Although we play "scored games" and rotate people after each game, it is all quite informal - we play for fun. Some spare (basic) bats are available to borrow, although most members have their own, and balls are provided. You MUST wear non marking soft soled shoes (some black soled trainers do leave marks on the floor). Fees, to cover the cost of the room hire, are paid quarterly, and currently work out at around £12 per member per quarter. David Miller provides members with a year calendar covering groups 1 and 2.
