Members of the group organise a walk for each month and we have a planning meeting in January, over lunch, to encourage people to put their names forward. It works well if 2 members get together to plan and lead a route.
We aim to keep the start of the walk within a half hour car ride of St. Albans and applaud car sharing to limit journeys and minimise any parking issues. We generally meet at a pub and walk 4.5 to 6.5 miles depending on the season and return to the pub for lunch. The number of walkers varies each month and it is a sociable, easy paced outing in all corners of the county.
